The installation is basically the reverse of removing your stock
heatsink.

Make sure that you clean off the old thermal grease from the RAM chips
thoroughly with some rubbing alcohol before applying the new thermal
grease. Also make sure that you add plenty of thermal grease to the RAM
chips to make sure that proper contact is made between the chips and the
heatsink. Do not use Arctic Silver, Arctic Alumina, or other metal-based
thermal greases on the RAM modules. Although the conductivity of metal
based thermal compounds is next to non-existent, there is still some
factors involved when dealing with sensitive RAM modules. The
Silicon-based compound that is included in the package is sufficient for
the job.
Clean the old thermal grease off of the GPU as well and replace it with
your favorite compound. For this review, I used Arctic Silver 5. The
same application rules that go with thermal grease on your CPU apply to
the GPU, with the exception that more care needs to be taken due to
bridges and such on the top of the core if using metal-based thermal
greases.

After cleaning the GPU and the RAM chips, reapplying the new thermal
grease, it is time to install the NV5 Silencer. All that is needed for
installation is a flat-head screwdriver. After sliding the rubber
washers onto each stem once sliding the stems through the mounting holes
on the card, you screw the bolts on. I found the best for maximum
contact to the RAM modules is for after finger tightening, turn
screwdriver 2 ¼ turns. The washer will look fairly compressed. The
thermal grease that you applied, if applied properly, will be pushed out
from the sides of the chips.
