256mb of Samsung K4J55323QF-GC20 memory has a 2.0ns allowing for a 1.0Ghz of headroom. You'll find later that we achieved much more than this JEDEC spec.

The 420 Core is no real secret, but the release of it was at least until now. With 160 million transistors on-board it offers superior performance under loaded conditions such as 1600x1200x32 with 4x AA and 8X AF. Using a .13 micron will give it a bit of headroom for overclocking.

Performance

The performance of this card is staggering enough to easily dethrone any card offered up until late April 2004. This includes the lowly (hardly) 9800XT and especially the 5700U3 we reviewed just one week ago. Seeing as how the x800 Pro will compete with its big-brother, as well as, the nVidia 6800 series, it will still offer plenty of performance and when overclocked stays well within range if not more so, than the x800 XT. We tested using a very stable Pentium 4 platform consisting of the following components:

 - DFI 875 Lan-Party
 - Intel P4 2.8 overclocked to 3.5Ghz (250 Mhz FSB)
 - OCZ-PC4400 2x512mb
 - Seagate SATA 2x160gb RAID 0 (ICH5R)
