Sapphire HD4890 1GB Toxic PCI-e Video Card

Next on our list of tests is a new one here at the Club.  Called Unigine, this benchmark aims to be a vital part of any overclocker's toolbox.  The beauty of Unigine is in its flexibility, as it will allow you to benchmark under a variety of rendering schemes.  Find out more about Unigine here.

For the purposes of our testing, we ran the benchmark in what I considered to be a typical setting for the potential HD4890 customer, at 1680x1050 with 4xAA and all other settings maxed out:

Though the Render mode is reported as being Direct3d10, the benchmark actually does support 10.1 options, thus we enabled them for the test.

  FPS Score
4890 Toxic Stock 41.3 1040
4890 Toxic OC 43.5 1097

The overclocking of the 4890 Toxic makes only a minor difference in the Unigine test, with a 5.3% increase in FPS and a 5.5% increase in overall score.
