X3: Terran Conflict:
X3: Terran Conflict is a relatively new benchmark
here at ClubOC, but it is one of my favorites. If you are not
familiar with the "X" games, they are well worth checking out.
The benchmark, known as the "Rolling Demo" is available
here.
X³: Terran Conflict is a brand new,
stand-alone game set in the universe of X³. It is the culmination of
the X trilogy, with a grand finale that takes us all the way back to
Earth's own solar system. Gamers can take on the roles of different
characters in the X universe, or of a Terran military pilot, and
experience a multitude of stories in the largest X universe ever
featured - for X³: Terran Conflict will offer more missions
than any other X game before.
For the all testing, the settings were completely
maxed out, with the single GPUs running at 1680x1050 and the dual
GPUs running 1920x1200:

The X3:Terran Conflict demo is notorious for
loving clock speeds, both on the GPU and the CPU. Here the
4890 pulls ahead by a meager 1-2%.

Same story on the multi-GPU front; the 4890
Crossfire wins, but barely.
