S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky is another game that takes advantage of the capabilities of DirectX 10.1, and it also happens to have a free downloadable benchmark.  Set in the time period before Shadows of Chernobyl, the player assumes the role of a mercenary in a radioactive wasteland.  Based on the X-Ray 1.5 engine, Clear Sky makes for a popular benchmark.

For the single GPU cards, testing was again done at 1680x1050, with all other settings maxed out, including DX10.1 rendering and 4xMSAA.

The dual GPU cards were tested at the same settings, except at 1920x1200.

Single GPUs:

4870 Toxic:

4890:

The 4890 generally edged out the 4870 by a few frames per second in each test, equating to gains of 14%, 19%, 21%, and 16%.  Pretty impressive.

Dual GPUs:

4870X2:

4890 Crossfire:

The dual 4890s did substantially better than the 4870X2 in the Clear Sky, racking up gains of 25%, 32%, 54%, and 25%.
