Next on our list of tests is a new one here at the
Club. Called Unigine, this benchmark aims to be a vital part
of any overclocker's toolbox. The beauty of Unigine is in its
flexibility, as it will allow you to benchmark under a variety of
rendering schemes. Find out more about Unigine
here.
For the purposes of our testing, we ran the
benchmark in two different runs; the 4890 and 4870 ran it at
1680x1050 while the 4890 Crossfire and 4870X2 ran it at 1920x1200.
Here is the first run:

Though the Render mode is reported as being
Direct3d10, the benchmark actually does support 10.1 options, thus
we enabled them for the test.

The 4890 takes a lead here again, with a 6.7%
advantage in FPS and a 6.6% advantage in score.
Now for the second run:

As stated before, the second run was done at
1920x1200, which I feel is better represented by the type of gaming
we would expect for a 4870X2 or a couple 4890s in Crossfire.

The Crossfire setup for the 4890s really shows its
muscle, taking a 15% lead over the 4870X2.
