The Connect 3D X800XL is basically a slower clocked 850 to an extent. If that were true then surely the asking price of less than $300 just wouldn't take and everyone would own one. What you do get with the XL is a full featured pack card that has everything but a TV Tuner built in.

Here you can see that Connect 3D has stuck to what our staff likes. Everything is included but a game bundle, but to us Game bundles are for those out there that don't mind paying for substandard games and invisible tech support. Just a few weeks back I purchased a card for a customer build, a 9800 Pro that was bundled with Tomb Raider AOD. That game never took off as more than a benchmark and from what I understand the company went under. Quality gaming is what I've observed from bundles so far. An S-Video, Composite, and S-Video cable(s) are part of the Connect 3D bundle as well as the registration and installation paperwork.

The Connect 3D X800XL comes with a fairly generic OEM cooler, but unlike the one on the OEM PE we tested that continuously overheated, this HSF did a good job. The XL comes with DDR3 memory modules made by Samsung which come in at 2.0ms. The core of the XL is clocked at 400, while the memory comes in at 490. The back of the card has the S Video, and digital VGA.

Connect 3D was nice enough to equip the XL with something other than white paste, although covering only the top side of the memory modules is puzzling since the backside of the card is has no memory heat dissipation. The core of the XL is like nothing that we've seen on previous cards, and if you have alternative forms of cooling the protective shim is your friend.
