Now it time to plug this baby in and take it for a spin around the block, but let's go over the basics of the test system first.

CPU: Intel Pentium 4
2.8GHz
LGA-775
Video Card: ABIT Radeon RX600XT-PCIE
Video Card Driver Version: CATALYST Windows XP 4.9

Game tests

In the following tests, I tested several games with all driver settings at default.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Halo: Combat Evolved

800x600 Average frame rate = 53.05fps
1024x768 Average frame rate = 33.09fps

-----------------------------------------------------------

Quake III Arena
four.dm_67

800x600 4.6 seconds: 331.9 fps
1024x768 6.2 seconds: 301.7 fps

-----------------------------------------------------------

Doom3
demo1.demo

800x600 Average frame rate = 27.9fps
1024x768 Average frame rate = 20.9fps

-----------------------------------------------------------

3DMark2001SE

1024 x 768 = 13809 3DMarks

-----------------------------------------------------------

The X600XT handled Doom 3 quite well. Although the FPS is only in the 20s, it was faster than the "slide show" performance of the nVidia PCX5750 that we tested previously.
