Understanding that tests will vary from system to system, I've decided not
to run this test in an overclocked system. Of course, I will use CoolBits
to unlock the Clock Settings tab of the ForceWare driver and attempt
some Overclocking later on. For the few
that aren't aware, CoolBits is a registry merge which opens up a new tab on
the Forceware driver.
With the
default clock speeds of 350MHz for the graphics core and
500Mhz memory I started testing. A wide range of familiar benchmarks were
used in this round of tests. The 3D Mark series is a standard fare of
synthetic benchmarks that gauge DirectX 8 performance in 3D Mark 2001, and
DirectX 9 performance in 3DMark 2003 & 2005.

Certainly, we're not seeing any scores here that would start arguments over
driver optimizations. 3D Mark 2001 uses DirectX 8 while 3D
Mark 03' and '05 use DirectX 9. Obviously, the higher polygon count in 3D
Mark 05 models hit this card very hard.
