Fan and Cooling Series:

DIY-F01-712 Full Size of CPU Reactive Fan Adapter

  • Use to increase airflow and reduce noise of fan
  • Made from high quality plastic material (acrylic)
  • Complete screw set pack included

This UV reactive acrylic blue fan adapter is used to convert a 70 mm fan to a more efficient 120 mm fan.  Not only are 120 mm fans often more efficient, they can also be much quieter.

Here you can see the adaptor as it would look with a 120 mm fan in place.  The adaptor stands about an inch tall and believe me, it is begging for a UV reactive fan solution!  As I do not have a 70 mm fan location available, I can only speculate on the advantages of converting to a 120 mm fan.  The size advantage of using a 120 mm cooling solution is incredible.  A good 120 mm fan can easily move a much higher volume of air at a much slower speed.  The result is a cooler CPU or case and an overall reduction in case noise.  This kit was designed for a CPU heat sink project but could easily work to convert any 70 mm fan to 120 mm (or back if you are feeling contrary!)  There is also a kit available for converting 60 mm fans to 90 mm.

DIY-ON06 Anti-Noise Cover-80mm Fan

  • Cover in behind of PC CASE on FAN area

  • Silent Foam rubber inside for anti-noise and good performance

  • Decrease the Noise of FAN about 50%~70%

  • User can adjust the length of Cover

  • 100% Aluminum Material

This one is so new its not yet on the 7zoneUSA site.  Basically this is a kit designed to silence your 80 mm exhaust fan.  The kit contains an 80 mm silicon fan gasket mounting screws and the aluminum piece you see here.

This piece is mounted on the outside of your case and redirects the airflow down.  With the side screw, you can extend the unit to cover some of a second fan.  The black foam dampens the sound resulting in a quieter exhaust.

As today's build does not include an 80 mm exhaust fan I will be using this high-end Silverstone 80 mm fan to demonstrate the mounting.  The Silverstone FM series fans are notable as they use a larger than normal opening to increase the air flow.  Fortunately the rubber gasket is able to work with any 80 mm mounting.

The install is quite simple.  The rubber gasket is placed between your 80 mm fan and the inside of the case.  This gasket is instrumental in reducing the noise caused by your fans vibrations under speed.  In fact 7zoneUSA offers several fan gaskets and kits to help you silence all your system fans.  The exhaust hood is then installed on the outside of the case.  With the hood installed the air is directed down and the black foam insulates the airflow resulting in a greatly reduced fan noise.  I am pretty sure one of these would look pretty sweet on the back of a silver case too!  As you can see in the pictures above, the hood extends to cover a second 80 mm fan location as well.  The second fan will not benefit as much from the sound deadening material as it would only be partially covered.
