Cable Accessories Series:

DIY-OSA04 4 Link Power Supply Cable for HDD (SATA Extra Long)

  • 4pin large male x 1 to SATA
  • L type female x 4
  • Good for 4 HDD connecting
  • Full safety pass
  • Dimension: 55 cm

With the mainstream PC world slowly embracing SATA, I cant count how many times I have needed just one more SATA power plug.  Now you can have 4 more and enough length to split out the hard drives and the optical drives as they should be.  This is one extra I definitely can't have enough of.

In this install I have four SATA drives and the location of the optical drive in the top bay requires me to run the SATA lines to two different locations that are spaced quite far apart..  With the 4 Link Power Supply Cable I can use the two SATA runs commonly provided by the power supply to run down to my hard drive cage and still have power to my Plextor.  This is just one of the many ways a cable like this is so handy to have around.  In fact, the AW8D has a +12 V Molex socket down at the bottom left, I wonder if 7zoneUSA will put out an IDE version as well.

Conclusion:

It takes the right tool to get the job done right and 7zoneUSA has the right tools for those little projects you have been putting off.  In addition to these individual parts, 7zoneUSA also offers kits to pick up everything you might need for a project like silencing your PC all at once.  Most of these products can be found for just a few dollars or less and the results are definitely worth the effort. As you can see from this project, most of these parts can be used in every PC build.  Look for these and other 7zoneUSA products at NewEgg as they become available.
