Features

One of the nicest things I observed regarding the NXP-301 was the overall build quality of the unit. It is well made, and can more than likely withstand the amount of abuse when transporting your case to and from your favorite LAN event. The instruction manual and overall package makes it a wise investment since its so complete.

Opening the box reveals a well protected package containing everything you need to add some light to your PC, yet keep the fan noise down to tolerable levels.

We mustn't forget the nice addition of cold cathodes to a fan controller. As far as I know Vantec is the only manufacturer thus far to include the CC's with a kit like this.

Its kind of a shame that a PCB such as this has to covered, although for the fella's out there with clear cases will find it a nice feature.

The three pin RPM small fan headers can handle Fans like the Vantec Tornado or other HS fans. The controls handle variable RPM's as well, and not just off or on. The 5V molex is where your PSU plugs into the unit, and the plugs to the left of the molex are for the CC lights. All wires for the fans are included, and no shortage of wiring was observed using a Lian Li PC-75 case which should make those with tall cases rest easier.

One more shot of the PCB, sure it'll be covered, but I'd like to see Vantec have some things to tell some of the motherboard companies out there what colors are pleasing to the eye. ;)
