Evercool Water Cooling
Kit WC-202
Even though water cooling has been around for a while, I can still
impress my non-computer friends by telling them I cool my computer with
water. Yeah it's a cheap thrill, but it's still fun. For
those of us that have been water-cooling from the beginning, we may have
mixed emotions about a water cooling kit. It used to be difficult
to water cool a computer and took a certain level of skill. We
used to buy our pieces from the hardware store and make our own water
blocks. Now anyone with $100 can own one that is much more
reliable than the ones we used to make. That's where the mixed
emotions come in. We like the fact that water cooling is big
enough that manufacturers are producing high quality kits, but we're a
little irritated that you don't need any special skills to water cool
your computer, just $100. Anyway, most of the extremist that
started water-cooling early on have moved on to bigger, colder and labor
intensive things. There's a natural progression to things and
water is the next logical step up from air. There are a couple of
main reasons to upgrade your cooling. In most cases, water is
going to cool better than air. So the people that like to
overclock are going to get better results with a water cooling kit than
they would with air. Next is the noise factor. Better
cooling or not, a water cooling kit is quieter than air cooling.
You can go with the big-finned copper heatsinks on your video card and
CPU, but you are still going to need case fans to move the heat out of
your case. Whatever your motivation is, Evercool has a nice water
cooling setup that we are going to take a look at.
