Tritton has made the AX Pro as universal as possible. After all,
modern day consoles are also surround sound capable so it only makes sense that they let
everyone have a slice of the pie. Of course, there is a price to pay
for having that kind of flexibility
- baggage.

Here we see the AX Pro and all of the accessories
that are included in the retail package. Just how many cords do you
really need to use? That will depend on what you plan on hooking the
headsets up to. While we can use the AX Pro to listen to movies and
music from personal media players, we're going to keep this focused
on gaming.
Unlike
traditional headsets, the AXP Pro is powered. That means you'll need
to use one of the two AC adapters that are in the box just to hear
whatever it is you hook the headsets up to. Fortunately, both AC
adapters are the same size, so you don't have to worry about keeping
them separate.
At the end of the AX Pro headsets 144 inch (365cm) cord there are
two plugs. One is for the AC adapter and the other is a 9 pins DIN
which carries the audio signals. The DIN will either get plugged
into the digital decoder box or into analog adapter cable.
The analog cable has four plugs, one for the microphone and the rest
for the surround sound. The color coding that Tritton used on the
plugs closely matches the standards you'll see on most soundcards,
but you'll want to double-check with your motherboards audio control
panel to make sure you get the outputs assigned properly.
