Installation into the enclosure is straightforward. Four standard screws
will hold the power supply suspended in the top of the case. The fan on
the rear of the unit expels the air while the two other two are mounted
as intake fans. This power supply has the #1 feature I look for when I
pull a new unit out of the box, a master power switch. I have gotten to
the point that I refuse to use a power supply without this switch.
Luckily most newer power supplies come equipped with it. The red
three-position switch next to the master power switch is a manual speed
control switch, offering a sort of All, Some, or None. You can either
run the fans full speed, at a medium speed or let the thermo-sensing
controls pick which speed is best.

As
far as connectors and cables go, the Triple Fan KWI-450 is just
right. While Enermax goes the extra mile (almost literally) to keep
everybody happy, especially those folks with full tower enclosures, the
extra length in power lines can put a serious damper on keeping the
enclosure neat and orderly. While I'm primarily talking about the main
ATX power lines, the separate auxiliary lines can be just as bothersome.
The ATX power line on the KWI-450 measures at just 17½ inches long.
Kingmax has also has wrapped the ATX lines in a protective nylon shroud
and tagged the end in an shrink-wrap. Very nicely done!
In
addition to the required auxiliary power lines for Pentium-4
motherboards, there are three sets of wires to accommodate peripheral
power connections. They are each approximately 32 inches in length. Two
of the wire bundles are identical with three Molex type connectors and a
floppy-drive connector at the very end. The 3rd bundle carries four
Molex connectors brining the total to 10 Molex and 2 Floppy connectors.
