Enermax Revolution 950W PSU Review
Noise and Heat:
Much like ECO we had reviewed previously, the
Revolution has a distinct advantage in that higher efficiency
equates to less heat, which then means less noise. In fact,
during all of our testing, the Revolution barely warmed up at all,
and I could not detect that the fan had sped up at all. So,
the Revolution gets two thumbs up from me for both heat and noise
categories.
Conclusion:
There is no doubt that the Enermax Revolutions
950W power supply is truly a great unit; it encompasses great
performance, efficiency, and style into a single unit, perfect for
any enthusiast. It does have a weakness, however, and that is
in price. At $259 on Newegg, this 950W unit is substantially
more expensive than many quality 1kW+ units on the market today.
There are a few places selling the unit for as low as $220, which
makes it a bit more price competitive, but still a bit too much
considering the competition.
If price is not a concern, then the Enermax
Revolution should be on the short list of any enthusiast looking
build a new system.
