Test
System
For this review I'll be
using a test system based on ABIT's AA8 DuraMAX motherboard. Here is an
abbreviated spec list.

Testing
Testing power
supplies isn't an exact science unless you have some very expensive test
equipment. As for us and most consumers, we are only interested in
seeing stable and correct voltage on each line. With today's high end
computers there is little or no room for voltage fluctuations. Voltage
needs to be right on or the system will become unstable. Below is the
standard voltage sticker found on all PSUs. In the center you see 6
voltage columns. This is what the voltage should be on each line, which
can be easily read in the computer bios screen. You can also read the
voltage lines with Windows based monitoring programs.

Using Abit's uGuru,
we can see all the voltage readings while in Windows, even core voltages
of the Northbridge, CPU, memory and so on. We can see by the readings
that all of the voltage lines meet the specs. Again. measurements like
this are not exact, but they are very close.

Conclusion
I'll be the first one to admit it, the Liberty PSU isn't for everyone.
The Liberty really is only for those who want the best of the best or
those who want everything in their case to look beyond perfection. If
you want the best and/or you're building a customized case with a window
mod so you can show it off to friends, this is the PSU you need. If you
don't fall under that category, I'd save a little money and get an
Enermax PSU that meets the same specs, but doesn't concentrate so much
on high end looks. $109 may seem a little steep, but remember you are
paying for an ultra high end power supply with hard core componetry and
killer looks. Expensive or not, the LIberty receives the Club
Overclocker Seal of Approval and the honor of going into my tricked out
water cooled LAN Party computer! Nice job Enermax!
