Here at the Club we have looked at a lot of power supplies over the years so its nice to see a familiar face once in a while.  The Ultra X3 800 Watt Modular power supply is the latest in a run of solid Ultra products from the X3 line.  The X3 800W has all the great features we have come to expect from Ultras top power supplies like FlexForce cabling and 85% efficiency under a normal load.  Combine this with Ultra's Limited Lifetime warranty and this power supply should be just what the doctor ordered.  Lets take a look.

     The 800W X3 shares the giant X3 graphic familiar from both the 1000W and 600W units we have worked with in the past.  This packaging is both attractive and oversize providing ample protection for your new power supply inside.

     The top flap opens to provide all of the information and specifications you would expect to make an informed purchase.  Ultra still scores points for proudly displaying the power distribution right on the box.

     Another reason for the oversized packaging is the sheer amount of cables Ultra has provided with this unit.  The cables are quite long to allow for practically any case setup.  Each cable is constructed using Ultras FlexForce style making them very easy to work with and the final installation cabling quite clean.

     With the packaging and features out of the way, we get our first look at the actual X3.  The design is dominated by the 135 MM fan on the bottom and the ultra modular design shown here on the back.  The mirror finish is almost a gun metal and as you will see, it is quite reflective.  Overall the construction of the X3 line remains some of the best quality I have used.
