Gigabyte GO-5232A
DVD/CD-ROM Combo Drive

Gigabyte has packed the drive with their own proprietary technologies which are intended to make the drive perform better and with less noise.

Intelligent Burn System: Gigabyte's own form of Burn-Proof technology that guards against Buffer Underrun errors.
i-Burn Technology: The drive will interact with the inserted media and auto-detect the optimal recording speeds to ensure that data is written at the  highest quality.
i-Speed Technology: Read speed of the drive is changed on-the-fly without any user intervention to increase data read accuracy.
Vibration Reduction System & Ultra Quiet Design: Featured to take one more noisy component out of your personal computer. Vibration Reduction also enhances the quality of burned products.
Vertical & Horizontal Mounting: Increasing the installation options makes the drive more versatile and more cost effecivve.
Low-Profile Design: Built with the Small-Form Factor PC in mind. The drive requires less space INSIDE the enclosure.

The above picture shows the Gigabyte GO-5232A drive on top of a normal (full-size) DVD-ROM; dedicated reader. Since the drive still have to fit in a standard 5.25 inch drive bay, the space saved is at the rear of the drive. Small form factor enclosures will reap the most benefit from this arrangement making it much easier to install and route the ATA drive cable. Also, since most SFF enclosures only have space for one drive bay, filling it with a combo-drive gives the machine a best of both worlds capability. Since SFF rigs are powerful enough to be used as on the go LAN Party / gaming machines,  they are more than capable of performing duties as a household multi-media PC.
