Gaming Benchmarks

We wanted to utilize as much gaming and other assorted benchmarks as possible. We are really growing accustomed to a little shareware program called "Bench 'em All" that is free to use for 30 days. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the HL2 benchmark to run, but it's somewhat controversial anyways for ATI cards.

It was interesting to see the similarities between Call Of Duty and RTCW. Of course they are the same modified Q3 engine so that's to be expected. ChameleonMark is a benchmark from the GF-3 days to give you an idea of what kind of leaps and bounds video card's and system's have made in the last few years since the TI500 came out. Take note that due to budget constraints that we used the Q3 Arena Demo instead of the full version. Right after we finished up our benchmarks I saw Q3 for sale for $10.. oh well.. our readers will live hopefully. :)

The Soltek K8TPro-939 is a great board for those of you that need a board without needing a high FSB to achieve good fps. Its hard to say it, but its kind of a blessing in disguise, If you can accomplish the same amount of performance at a less riskier FSB then I cannot see any kind of problem. This board performs as well as our NF-3 ultra equipped Epox 9nda3+ at a lower speed, and has absolutely killer frame rates. It did take a long time getting to know the Soltek's strengths though, and it also takes a really good power supply, as is the case with every socket 939 board up to date that we've tested. Everything works on the Soltek, and as a matter of fact it is so stable that it has continued to run at these overclocked settings no matter what. The K8TPro-939 also has so many features to ignore it as a board of choice on a socket 939 platform. We hope that Soltek continues to develop the BIOS, and we will try and contact those BIOS modders out there to see if any hidden features can be addressed. If Soltek were to incorporate more BIOS features than it would get a definite 10 in the overclocking category. For now all I can say is wow! ClubOC recommended!
