Gigabyte GA-G1975X
Happy New Year! With the new year
will come
lots of new products and Gigabyte has already graced us with their newest
motherboard. Based on the Intel 975X chipset, Gigabyte's official model name is
the GA-G1975X. The G1-Turbo, for short, In short, is now Gigabyte's flagship
Intel based motherboard. Beyond support for the latest chipset and processors,
the G1-Turbo carries a payload of features fit for a overclocking king.

For
folks who use the brick and motor stores to buy your computer hardware,
it shouldn't be very hard to pick this one out. Gigabyte's marketing
producers have really kicked thing up a notch with the box. Plain, but
not. You can't miss the Intel 975X splash, and yes that's right! A Sound
Blaster Live Logo, too! Kind of a spoiler, but instead of using the
standard AC'97 or even HD Audio, Gigabyte has put a Sound Blaster Live
24-bit sound platform on the motherboard. Their motto for this board;
Designed for Extreme Overclockers and Hardware Gamers!

The
inside of the box tells the whole story. Sound Blaster Live 24-bit
support for the gamers, and a Turbo Jet cooling system for the
Overclockers!

The
Turbojet Technology is a series of 4 fans mounted inside a shroud that
covers the 975X northbridge and the power regulation MOSFET array. As we
can see in the above diagram, two fans are pulling air across the memory
slots and two fans are pushing air out through back of the enclosure.
