The color green has had a lot of influence and is responsible for much of the advancement in modern desktop processor technology. No this is not a reference to the US Dollar, but the banner colors of Advanced Micro Devices. AMD brought us a 64-bit processor with Desktop computing in mind, named the Athlon64. Not to be forgotten, the Opertron processor is geared more towards enterprise workstation and server grade computing. The advancements continue as AMD merges the Socket 940 (Opertron) and Socket 754 (Athlon64) processors into one interface, Socket 939. While many enthusiasts will take the early plunge and venture into the newest technologies available, budget buyers and those fearful of infant technology concepts will hold back and wait to see what the best avenue will be to turn on.

Foxconn motherboards share and share alike, being an old company under a new name and offering modern technology under a budget price. The 755A01-6EKRS motherboard is a definitive statement boasting Athlong64 support for Socket 754 processors and still keeping the price for the motherboard under $100. Based on the SiS 755 Chipset, the board is in no short supply of modern and high demand features. Serial ATA, AGP 8x and support for DDR400 are just some of the features sought by enthusiasts and up-graders alike.
