Performance

With our phase change fired up, the newest BIOS loaded and the OCZ PC5000 at 3-4-4 we were ready to commence towards our goal of 3Ghz. We simply played around in the BIOS for awhile, asked for some setup advice from fellow DFI owners, and away we go!

This is a good start!

A little more gives you alot!

Lets kick down the multiplier and let the PC5000 do its job for these benchmarks!

The memory controller of the NF-4 chipset makes itself known with the optimization of DFI's BIOS.

The 2001se score is really outstanding!

Conclusion

The DFI is an outstanding piece of work, and is an absolute for any AMD platform. Whether if its the board's ;layout or features, or simply its overclocking performance, the Ultra-D has it all. There simply isn't anything that we know about that even comes close, although we would have really liked some out-of-the-box stability which it was lacking until a simple BIOS flash fixed it all. If it weren't for our cooling or memory setup we're quite certain that the results wouldn't be as optimistic as they are, but we have already tried a few other motherboards with this particular phase change and weren't able to find any bottleneck from the DFI.

I would personally have to say that DFI does need to work on its overall execution though. There are many people out there that actually have the nerve to put together a computer and expect it to run perfectly out of the box, and if they plan on using this board they may not like it to well. The DFI BIOS has one page alone just for the memory settings you can chose, but from what I have experienced too many options = problems for those that don't really want to research it nor do they have the time. I personally love this motherboard, and have enjoyed its excellent stability for well over a month whether if its air, water, or phase change cooled, ever since I flashed the BIOS it has never once given me a headache. ClubOC recommended.
