DFI NF4 SLI Infinity
Motherboard

The pinch
for free space on the motherboard can be felt when we look at the location of
the Front Panel Audio and the internal IEEE 1394 Firewire header. This isn't the
worst place for these connectors, but it will put a wire going across the top of
one of the video cards for the audio connectors. The Firewire header will pretty
much do the same thing if you use the internal connector from your enclosure.
Even if you use an internal expansion slot, it may take some creative wire
routing to keep everything neat and tidy, especially if you are going to use the
SLI features of the board.

The rear
I/O panel has most of the familiar faces we expect to see, but by being classed
as a budget board we don't see the full compliment of audio hookups,
and there is only one Ethernet jack. However, the audio
connectors are doubled up so running a 5.1 system is possible. Also, there are
SP/DIF connectors for digital input and output hook-ups. External serial
ports have been chopped down to one, because really - who uses two?

We said
that DFI packed this board light with accessories, and here's the whole bundle. A
floppy and 80-pin IDE ribbon cable, the drivers/utilities CD, the SLI brdige, a
couple of Serial ATA cables and a user manual. Oh, and a floppy disk with the
drivers to set up the nVidia RAID. So the Infinity series lacks some of
the fancy connections on the rear I/O, doesn't come bundled with nearly as many
accessories......
