A.C. Ryan
Mods
Cables, sleeve kits, retractable USB, UV ray light-burn your eyes stuff.. You
name it, A.C. Ryan makes it all. At first I was trying acknowledge just who is
this A.C. Ryan? At ClubOC we get a lot of email from different manufacturers
asking us to review their products, and we usually do so because little a little
entrepreneurship take place is what America is all about right? Well when A.C.
Ryan sent us this box of UV goodies, is was something you almost never see. The kits
are complete with zip ties and they even have a special tool to remove the plugs that is easier
to use then any other I've tried. And the colors... Ahhh the colors.. Yep, the color that
this kit is in is just really well, UV. Lets have a look at it!

The sleeving kit...

...and the plugs!

More plugs... I think that's
everything.

Installation
If you've never sleeved a power supply, well don't. Of course
I'm using reverse psychology simply because its very difficult and time
consuming. Taking into consideration that this kit is overly complete, you'll
still need
some knowledge in wiring, crimping, and how the connectors work. I was good
at the first two, but the second was kind of a learn as you go type of thing.
Upon destroying my SATA plugs I just decided on going with some of the A.C. Ryan
plugs, the heat-shrink tubing, and I decided to use some leftover Vantec
sleeving that I had since I wanted green, and not pink. Little did I know that
pink is red under a UV light... Learn the hard way I suppose. Not to get too far
off track, but the tool you get with the A.C. Ryan kit works like no other.
Vantec could use some design help in that department, but nonetheless, using the
A.C Ryan was simply a pleasure.

You get several of these plugs in the kit.
Notice the simplicity of the tools.

Here's a fan I did rather quickly with the kit. Like I
mentioned before the red looks pink, and kind of throws you off. So I used...

Some leftovers I had of a Vantec kit, since the A.C. Ryan tool
was SOO much easier to use..

Here is the final result of about
4 hrs of sweating, backbreaking work...and its simply stunning.
Conclusion
The A.C. Ryan kits
had everything you could possible need. We got the ToolX, heatshrink tubing, and
A.C. Ryan gave us more than enough sleeve
to do our PSU right. If you have the patience to sleeve a PSU look no
further than A.C. Ryan. They must have some E.E.'s working for them because it
obvious from the looks of the kit that you need some education in the electrical
connector department. Oh yes, The kit does not come with any instructions so I
am guessing that A.C. Ryan has opted to acknowledge that everyone knows what to
do, and how to do it. I think an instruction manual on how to remove the PSU ATX
connector would have been a nice touch, but its probably secret information that
people would have to die for. If you're a case modder, the A.C. Ryan kit is
going to win you over... Its complete, and is bound to give your machine an
award winning customized look... ClubOC recommended...
