Test System

For this review I'll be using ABIT's AA8 DuraMAX motherboard which is based on Intel's 925X Express chipset.

Hardware Model
Motherboard: ABIT AA8 DuraMAX
CPU: Intel Pentium 4
3.0GHz (800MHz)
LGA-775
Video Card: ABIT Radeon RX600XT-PCIE
Memory: PQI Turbo Memory
PC2-5400 DDR2
4-4-4-12

Testing - SiSoft Sandra

Benchmarking will be accomplished by using SiSoft Sandra. As far as performance settings go, it just doesn't get any better than the ABIT AA8. Besides the normal bus speed locks, the AA8 has a CPU to Memory ratio setting that works incredibly well. I'll start out at a ratio of 1:1 and work my way up to 2:3.

SiSoft Sandra Memory Bench (higher score is better)
1:1 - 200/200MHz

3:4 - 200/533MHz

2:3 - 200/600MHz

The CPU:Memory ratio setting on this ABIT AA8 DuraMAX is one of the best features I've seen on an Intel board to date. It really allows you to push high speed DDR2 to it's limits.
