The majority of testing will be done using SiSoft Sandra Pro Business version.  ClubOC has been using SiSoft Sandra for many years now and it's pretty much the main benchmarking program we use for testing memory.

Memory Speed / Bus Speed Timings Int Buff'd Float Buff'd
1200MHz / 1600MHz 5-5-5-12 8046MB/s 8014MB/s
1244MHz / 1600MHz 5-5-5-12 8159MB/s 8086MB/s

Anything above 1244MHz I had to loosen the timings up so much that the performance was lower, 1244MHz is the speed I decided was the max overclock, based on performance.

Speed Timings Read Write Copy Latency
1200MHz / 1600MHz 5-5-5-12 10516MB/s 7222MB/s 7613MB/s 49.1ns
1244MHz / 1600MHz 5-5-5-12 10593MB/s 7289MB/s 7664MB/s 47.7ns

Everest tests the memory in a bunch of different ways.  That's one of the reasons I like to use it.  Overall, the memory performed very well.  Lastly, I used PCmark05's memory test.

Speed Timings Score
1200MHz / 1600MHz 5-5-5-12 7006
1244MHz / 1600MHz 5-5-5-12 7054

As you can see from the above scores, the overclock really didn't make a noticeable difference.  I wasn't able to get much more than default speed, but this memory is already cranked up pretty high.

Conclusion

It's nice to see that DDR2 has a lot of life left.  There are not very many companies offering 1200MHz DDR2.  Newegg lists 4 companies selling 1200Mhz DDR2 or higher.  Let's talk about the rating system for a second.  Innovation is going to be high purely because of speed.  Only a handful of companies are offering DDR2 at this speed.  Performance, Quality and Stability are high because the product performed very well and maintained the enhanced latency settings even overclocked.  Overclocking is where we had some problems.  It's hard to score overclocking on a product that is already overclocked very high.  Just the fact that it still had some headroom, impressed me.  Lastly the value score.  This one is a toss up.  DDR2 is very inexpensive right now.  However, 1200MHz DDR2 is not your typical DDR2.  Basically if you want the some of the fastest DDR2 stock speed memory, you're going to have to pay for it.  Lastly, this memory rocks!  Most of the other memory at this speed requires a little more voltage and some exotic cooling, whether it's heatpipes, fins or water cooling.  Patriot gets this speed by using the standard Patriot heatspreaders.  Club Overclocker Recommended.
