The majority of testing will be done using
SiSoft Sandra Pro Business version. ClubOC has been
using SiSoft Sandra for many years now and it's pretty much the
main benchmarking program we use for testing memory. |

Anything above 1250MHz I had to
loosen the timings up so much that the performance was lower, 1250MHz is
the speed I decided was the max overclock, based on performance.

Everest tests the memory in a bunch of different
ways. That's one of the reasons I like to use it. Overall,
the memory performed very well.

Conclusion
The Crucial
Ballistix PC2-8500 performed very well. We got over the 8,000 mark
in Sandra and it wasn't hard to do so. It definitely has a
coolness factor to consider with the Multi-colored LEDs. The LEDs
aren't just for show either, they have a function. It's nice to
see a company pushing out top-rated memory, but keeping the price low
enough for us common folk. To get this 2GB kit, you're going to
have to shell out $299.99. I guess it helps with cost when you can
walk next door to Micron and get the memory chips. With other
high-end 2GB kits pushing $400+, this is a very reasonable price. Club Overclocker Recommended.
