HP Photosmart 335 GoGo Photo Printer

The digital camera we received was new, but the Photosmart 335 GoGo Photo Printer was a refurbished unit. However, the Photosmart 335 was still completely repackaged and looked brand new. If it wasn't for "refurbished" stamped on the box, I would never have known it wasn't new.

The refurbished Photosmart 335 comes with everything a new unit does, including all documentation, power adapter, software, and color ink cartridge.

Out of the box, the HP Photosmart 335 looks a lot like an alarm clock/radio, but in this little portable box is a photo printer.

Pictured above is the front side with the cover down. The cover acts as a nice dust cover to help protect the plethora of memory slots. On the left is the PictBridge port for PictBridge-enabled cameras such as the HP Photosmart M517 digital camera that is included in this special package deal.

On the right is the port for the tri-color ink cartridge.

In the bottom of the unit is where you can install the optional battery. Using the optional batter would really turn this printer into a fully portable photo printer.

The Photosmart 335 not only will read just about any memory card, it will also connect to your desktop or laptop computer via the USB port in the back. The printer will print photos up to 4800 x 1200-optimised dpi color on HP Premium Photo paper when printing from a computer and 1200-input dpi.

Printing photos with the Photosmart 335 just doesn't get any easier with this combo. All you have to do is connect the camera to the PictBridge port using the USB cable that comes with the camera. You then use the camera's menu to print directly to the photo printer. Again, HP has made navigating the camera menu very simply and easy to understand. Don't forget that this is can be a stand alone printer. No computer is required to print from a camera or directly from flash memory. Together the printer and camera make a great combo that is extremely easy to use.

Conclusion

Because this is more of a promotional article for Geeks.com, and not a comprehensive review, I'm not going to go into depth on testing. However I did use the camera and printer extensively for about a week straight. Both devices worked flawlessly and "refurbished" really meant nothing to me other than being a stamp on the side of a box.

The complete kit Computer Geeks have packaged together is nothing less than a steal! Deals like this don't come along every day and I'm sure they will sell out in a very short time. Just keep in mind that this kit is classified as a starter kit. Those who are photography enthusiasts need to do their homework before purchasing such a package. Regardless, this package deal is ideal for those who are just into snap shots and scrap booking. This kit is also ideal for business people who need make pictures on the go.
