In this test the Hitachi's spank the Raptors in a good way. Its is truly sad, but also convincing enough to see that SATA II is really the way to go! Wow, very impressive results!

Spanking the Single Raptor is what these Hitachi drives like to do!

Wow! Simply stunning performance, almost double of what the Raptor is capable of. I am at a loss of what to say. These drives perform like nothing I have even seen. Given that ATTO32 is a typical SCSI benchmark I would have to say that my own familiarization with SCSI has now been unlearned. I don't even see why anyone can try to compare this kind of performance to anything!

Conclusion

My overall thoughts are that I plan on waiting in line to buy a few more of these drives! I cannot imagine what RAID 0+4 would be like! This is one of the many reasons to make sure you are using one of the latest motherboards! SATA II has to be an option on your motherboards chipset to see any kind of performance increase like we have witnessed here. These are miracle drives considering that they almost double the performance of the Raptor especially with larger files. For approx $135 street price you need to go out and grab a couple of these drives for your NF-4 board! ClubOC recommended!
