Testing

For our tests we are using the latest setup consisting of the following:

  • AMD Athlon 3500 Newcastle@3.01Ghz (Mach II GT Cooled)

  • DFI LANPARTY Ultra-D NF-4 w/ Native SATA II

  • Danger Den Cooled GPU

  • PDP PC-3200 XBL (2x512mb)

  • E-Power 600W PSU

In this test the Hitachi seems a bit behind the raptor at this point but it is a large drive. It also spins a bit slower than the Raptor's 10k RPM. Nonetheless it is a very fast drive considering its handicap vs. the Raptor

The Hitachi does very well with larger files in ATTO which IMO is a more accurate representation of a synthetic hard drive benchmark.
