Everything that you need is included; quick reference guide, owners manual, driver CD, 2-piece power cord, USB cable, stand, screws and a key to remove the case screws.

Installation

Like I said earlier, you can put any hard drive in the enclosure, as long as it's PATA.  I am going to use a Seagate 200GB hard drive.  Let's get to the installation.

The kit includes a special key to remove the four screws securing the cover.  It is not a necessity though.  You can use a wide blade, flat screwdriver.

Now that it's apart we get to look at the inside for the first time.  The front mesh and the back panel slide out of the enclosure for easy drive installation.

Installation is as simple as connecting the IDE and power cables then flipping the drive over and installing the four screws.

The installation process is outlined in the manual, but I have a problem with it.  The directions assume that you know the drive installed has to have a jumper in the master setting.  The directions for XP are to connect the drive to the computer, make sure the power switch is turned on and that's it.  This doesn't work that way for a hard drive installed in the enclosure, sure it was installed but I couldn't use it.

I had to go into the control panel, administrative tools then disk management and activate the disk.  I tried installing the disk on two computers, using WindowsXP Pro and got the exact same results each time.
