The KF-252-BK comes preassembled and the box contains everything you need for installation. Directions, screws and cables...it's all there.

The KF-252-BK has a very clean look and feels well built even though the housing is entirely made from plastic. However, the frost of the device has a metal faceplate with a brushed aluminum look.  

At the rear of the KF-252-BK you will find a 4-pin power, a SATA power and a SATA data connector. There is even a small cooling fan to help keep the hard drives cool. If you are wondering why there is both a 4-pin and a SATA power connector, the answer is it gives the option of using one or the other. Both power connectors do NOT need to be connected for use.

The Kingwin KF-252-BK will hold SATA hard drives in either 2.5" or 3.5" in size, making it the only universal internal SATA hot swap rack I've seen. The rack easily installed into any computer tower with an open 5.25" drive bay. Connect either the 4-pin or SATA power and the SATA data cable, install the 4 mounting screws and you're done. Although SATA hard drives are hot swappable, it is still a good idea to power off the KF-252-BK with the push button switch before removing or inserting a hard drive.
