Lian-Li PC60 Aluminum Case

For the past five years, I've been on the search for the ultimate computer case. I've found several cases that I thought were pretty cool, but none of them ever had everything I wanted in a case. Modified cases are also pretty cool, but most of them are just low budget cases to begin with nothing special about them. I've always wanted a case with class, something that stands out in a crowd. I want a case that will turn people's heads. Yes, I like the attention at LAN Parties!!! All of us case moding lunatics do! If we didn't, there really wouldn't be a point in spending as much time as we do on our cases. Just like an owner of a classic street rod, I'm proud to show off my system!

As of today, my search for the ultimate case has ended. After all these years, I believe I have found the beast I've been looking for. The Lian-Li PC60! The guys over at The Card Cooler sent over this sweet thing and at first, it looked like it too was nothing special. Sure, the case is constructed of solid aluminum and looks damn pretty, but what is this case REALLY like? We shall soon find out... Anyway, when the UPS man dropped off the box, it was so light that I honestly thought the box was empty. Before cursing The Card Cooler, I quickly opened the box to investigate. To my disbelief, there was in fact a case in that big box! Then it hit me, the Lian-Li case is made out of solid aluminum. Of course it's going to be light, but I wasn't expecting feather light!

There is much more to the Lian-Li PC60 case than meets the eye. As I tore into this baby, I soon discovered that this case holds about as many secrets as my old girlfriend! Let's start with the front. The front cover is very easy to remove and requires no tools or jigsaw puzzle disassembly. The cover just snaps off and on with ease. Under this cover there are a few surprises. There is a nice air filter assembly that snaps in over the two internal 80mm intake fans. The fans are nothing special but what is different about these fans is they are controlled by a three speed switch to control the fan speed! BONUS!!!

So far I'm very impressed and I've just gotten started! Hey, those face plates don't look like normal face plates do they? That's because they too are made out of aluminum and they just pop off and on too. So is that all the surprises in the front? Nope, one more...the removable floppy drive cage. The floppy drive cage is held in by three, tool free thumb screws for quick and easy access. Bad ass!!!

Now we have seen the goodies in the front, let's see what waits for us inside!
