The Install:

So here we have the built system looking at it from the front.  Installing the optical drive was a breeze because of the tool free mount, which provides a very solid mount for the unit.

Here's a look at the inside with all the components mounted.  Once again the tool free mounts for the drive units were a very nice surprise.  I used a I-StarUsa TC-620PD3 PSU unit for the build up.  The PSU fit very easily and the cables had plenty of reach.  You can see my review of the PSU here.  Notice on the tool free locks for the external bays that the slide cinches it in, then the button locks in place so it doesn't come loose.  The tool free locks on the expansion cards worked just as nicely, push on the button on the outside until you hear a click and the card is locked in place.

Very clean installation, notice the bracket for mounting the standard ATX power supply unit.

Firing up the system, I took a double take to make sure it was running.  I was amazed how quiet the system was, it was literally just above room ambient in noise.  You could hear it if you listened very closely, which in my book is a win.

Conclusion

I-Star has delivered rock solid products in the past and this seems to be no exception.  A well built case for the discriminating enthusiast.  Being constructed of steel the case is a tad on the heavy side, but for steel cases it is nothing out of the ordinary.  The only bad thing is that it would have been nice to provide thumb screws for both panels, other than that I couldn't find anything wrong with this case.  This can make a very nice start to that ultimate mod you've always wanted or for the enthusiast that is changing out parts every other month or the Overclocker that still wants to continue to use air cooling.  The drive space also makes it a decent candidate for a water cooling setup as well.  Thumbs up I-Star nice job!
