GigaByte 3D Aurora
Full Tower ATX Enclosure

The rear view of the 3D Aurora shows off the enclosure's higher calling. Aside from the perforated side panel to increase air flow, the enclosure has been made with water cooling in mind. Not just any water cooler either, but GigaByte's own 3D Galaxy water cooling kit. As Swiftech and other water cooling leaders have proven, a cooling system design that locates the radiator outside the enclosure is very efficient. Since most enclosures do not come with holes to accommodate water cooling lines, the popular work around is to use an expansion slot to mount the pass-through pipe. That is, unless you feel totally confident in your abilities with power tools to modify your present enclosure.

The two small black discs, at the bottom right side of the back plate, are the grommets for the water lines to pass through. They are pre-cut with slits that will form around the pipe, to prevent damage to the pipe and to keep debris from entering the enclosure. The design innovation does not stop there, with two 120mm fans, the radiator can be placed on one fan mount which allows the other unrestricted air flow for case ventilation.

The above picture is a close-up of the grommets. For purposes of demonstration, the water lines are not filled and are of different size. In the top is a 1/2" Inner diameter line and in the bottom is a 3/8" inner diameter line.
