NZXT has forged a reputation in the enthusiast market with some of the most stylish designs available.  Today we will be looking at the latest from their Crafted Series, the Zero 2.  The Zero 2 is the successor to the popular Zero case designed with an emphasis on extreme cooling.  Does the Zero 2 have what it takes to cool your next build?  Lets find out!

Zero

Introducing the Zero 2, the follow-up to the successful ZERO, featuring the same extreme cooling capabilities, the ZERO 2 is the perfect home to enthusiast and gaming users. Featuring a sturdy 1.0mm steel chassis, the Zero's structural integrity cannot be doubted. Weighing at 10.2KG the zero 2 is a beast of its own. Zero 2's quad side fans are perfect for users running multi GPU systems. ~NZXT

The Zero 2 is the latest from NZXT's Crafted Series of cases.  Following in the footsteps of the original Zero for its design, the Zero 2 attempts to bring the same fully customizable cooling system and performance to the sub $100 market.  Shaving precious dollars off the price does require some small sacrifices, the Zero was all Aluminum for example, but the Zero 2 is by no measure an entry level case. Lets take a closer look at the features.

Features

  • Full tower steel chassis
  • Quad 120mm fans dedicated for CPU and GPU cooling
  • Dual 120mm exhaust
  • Screwless installation for 5.25" and 3.5" devices
  • Intel HD audio compatibility
  • Top mounted USB, Audio, and E-SATA Ports
  • Sturdy 1.0mm steel chassis

Zero2

The Zero 2 shares a striking profile with it's more spendy brother though the polished accents are gone.  This all black full tower size and the giant four x 120 mm fan grill help to reinforce the feel that this case is bigger than it really is with its generous 210.5 X 532 X 536 mm all steel design.  The Zero 2 can be purchased with an optional NZXT branded 500W power supply but no other color options are offered at the moment.  As you shall soon see the blue accent lighting breaks up the polished black and helps lend a bit of personality to the completed build

Left

The left side is home to a large mesh grill designed to house up to four 120 mm fans.  This setup doubles as venting over the PCI slots and most CPU sockets.  Sadly the fans are optional.  This helps keep costs down and provides you with the option to add just the amount of cooling you need for your particular build.  With so much space to offer I would love to have seen a 200 mm or larger fan included but not everyone is a fan of the oversize coolers.

Right

The right side is much more subdued with not even a vent to break up the space.  The lack of thumb screws for this side show the intention is to leave well enough alone.

Back

The back shows off two of the included three 120 mm fans.  These NZXT branded fans will move a lot of air and with my ASUS motherboard the CPU sits nearly centered between the two.  With so much real estate to the left of that top fan a nice set of pre-drilled water cooling spacers are begging to be modded back in.
