The WinTasks Interface

Upon opening WinTasks you find 3 sections of
the interface. Section 1 includes the Options and Abilities available to
the user concerning the processes.
They Include:
On The Main Bar
Stop - Stop The Highlighted Process
(Inc)rease - Increase the process priority
(Dec)crease - Decrease the process prioity
Block - Add the selected process to the Block List
Refresh - Refresh the process list
Start Pulldown - Select processes that have been started before
Start - Start a process
Browse - Browse for a process to start
Check for Updates - Check for WinTasks Program and Process Library
updates
Print - Print a View of currently running processes
The Search Bar
Search Box - Name of a Process to search for
Search - Initiate the search for specific processes
Search Options - Change the way the search is performed
The Presets Bar
Presets 1 thru 4 - Save different configurations of active programs
and their relevant priority levels
The View Bar
Info - Show/Hide the Process info Pane
Autostart - Show the Autostart Pane
Process Lib - Show/Hide the Process Library
Block List - Show/Hide the Block List Pane
Windows - Show/Hide the Pane showing all Windows belonging to the
process selected
DLLs - Show/Hide the Pane showing what DLLs or Librarys belonging
to the process
Stats - Show/Hide the Statistics Pane
Scripts - Show/Hide the Script Editor
Logs - Show/Hide the Log Viewer, Log Configuration Pane
Section 2 shows the processes
currently running on the system, their priority, whether they are a
required or normal process in Windows, the process name, the process
executable, the priority of the process, the threads (Not available in WindowsNT), current CPU usage, current MEMory usage, and the time and
date when the process was started.
Section 3 is the Info Viewer.
Here you can see a description, if one is available, for the process
selected in Section 2. A huge majority of the processes running
have already been described either by LIUtilities, or by users who
submit descriptions to be added to the process library later. You
can also enter personal notes about the process to remind you why you
don't shut it down, or what you use it for. If you don't have a
description listed for a process you can submit it by clicking on a link
below where the process description would normally be. You can
also submit modifications if you feel the description is incorrect or
your comments about that process. There is also a link to show the
details about the process.
